There’s Black Friday. Cyber Monday. And now: #GivingTuesday!
RadioU is participating in #GivingTuesday: an international day of giving that brings nonprofits like ours, donors, and communities together to celebrate generosity and the impact of giving back.
$90 one hour
$7 one song
Your donation to RadioU keeps the music playing and most importantly, lives being changed. It costs about $90 an hour to run RadioU nationwide, which works out to about $7 for every song we play. RadioU’s impact starts with a $7 song, but it doesn’t end there. Help keep RadioU going by joining our community of givers on #GivingTuesday!
A huge “Thank You!” to everyone who helped RadioU raise $20,760 on #GivingTuesday.
So many great listeners got involved to help erase a big part of our Fall Fundraiser’s shortfall.
Didn’t have a chance to give? You can still make your donation below. Thanks again! <3
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. #GivingTuesday was founded in 2012 as a response to consumerism during the holiday season.
Why is RadioU participating?
RadioU is nonprofit and funded 100% by donations. We believe music should SAY something, and that the music we play can actually change people’s lives for the better. #GivingTuesday is an opportunity for listeners to join our community by supporting RadioU’s music and mission!
What difference will my gift make?
It costs $90 an hour to run RadioU nationwide, which works out to about $7 for every song we play. RadioU’s impact starts with a $7 song, but it doesn’t end there. A lot of our listeners depend on this music and message to get them through every single day — see our impact page to learn more.
Did you know?
Our main FM transmitter in Columbus, Ohio has been on-the-air continuously since 1984!! Well, it’s finally failed, and parts are no longer even made for it! We’re still on in Ohio, but from a backup unit at only runs at 50% of our regular power :(
Our NEW transmitter has arrived (see the pic) and gets installed soon! But it’s a nearly $40,000 project — so your #GivingTuesday donation will REALLY help!
