Album review: Jady leans into vulnerability on “Silver”

Jarrett & Ashton have done it again upon the release of their third album, Silver. This fourteen-track project shows a more vulnerable side of the band’s frontman as he wrestles with feelings of unworthiness and finding his place to fit in.

On “Reanimate,” we get to see the first glimpse of vulnerability from Jarrett when he states, “It’s been a hard couple months if you know me.” This theme that is ribboned throughout the entire album continues on “Siphon” when he expresses, “Trying my hardest to not feel worthless.”

The alternative pop duo from Columbus, Ohio continues to take strides by interweaving their own lore-based story into these songs. “The Veil” and “Torn” were very intentional, being the very first and last tracks named on the album, but fans inside of the band’s Discord server are still trying to crack the code fully.

The band has a very quick turnaround to play each of these new songs as they begin to headline KEMBA Live! in Columbus on Saturday, October 18th, giving fans a full week to learn the setlist. More details on this show can be found HERE.
